The best way to live life is by learning to live in the present moment. You would be surprised to know that we spend 50% of our time thinking about the past. And, out of the remaining 50%, we spend most of it thinking or desiring something to happen in the future.
The problem with our current way of living is that we are never fully present in the moment to enjoy it to the fullest.
‘Past is a book which is already read and future is a book which is yet to be written. The present is the book in hand, which you are writing currently.
But, despite knowing this, either we are trapped in our past book (with mostly unpleasant stories) or a future book (mostly filled with desires).
So, how do you think we will be able to control and design our lives?
I think the best way to live life is to be in the present moment. The best way to live is to travel light on this journey of life without any baggage of the past. Forgive whatever wrong people have done to you, and forget it for your own freedom and happiness.
Another critical point to add is not to ‘worry’ too much about planning your finances or achieving career goals. If you have taken care of your present and have started living it to the fullest, then your future is automatically secure.
One thing that is common in all big achievers in this world is that they are always living in the present. Whenever they think of the future, they fuel their imagination with belief and faith that it will happen.
And, do you know that living in the present is also considered to be in a state of meditation. One who has accepted his or her present will only be able to live happily in the present moment.
Always remember that despite all the scars and wounds that we have got on this journey, life is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to you.
The challenges or sadness that you are experiencing is only temporary, and this too shall pass. Start every new day on a fresh note of promising to give your best to every moment of your life.
Considering an average human life expectancy to be around 70 years, you get approximately 25000 odd days to live your life.
Imagine every single day counts so much. So, I strongly feel that the best way to live life is to live in the present and to accept or to make peace with your past.
Once the present is well in control in terms of creating thoughts and acting appropriately, then the future will always be secure, bright, and rewarding.
